In the background of “monumental history” there are always countless personal destinies of ordinary people, who did not create great events, but were their participants, who, taking responsibility, also built their destinies into the future. What happened after the peace treaty with the values for which Serbian soldiers, officers and the people selflessly sacrificed themselves in the Great War? Did the new state, and to what extent, set in its foundations the values for which people rushed to the front, starved in the wilderness of the Albanian mountains and suffered terror in the occupied territories, which all the allies respected as the greatest humanistic achievements of man and society? To what extent did the political elite and society in the whole of post-war Serbia respect the victims?MORE
Second revised edition, 2024
The complexity of the Great War period is largely interpreted by males’ military and political principles. In that context, Serbian historiography does not differ from the others’. When it deals with the role of women in the Great War, the accent is on women warriors, represented by the legendary heroine Milunka Savić, or on self-sacrificing nurses, the most famous of which is Nadezda Petrovic, the renowned painter. This book’s intent is different: we wanted to highlight the heroic role of Serbian women, both peasants and city-dwellers, whose shoulders carried the burden of their families, homes and estates, anguish for their burned and looted hearths, and concern for loved ones who were on the battlefront. They lived in constant fear and distress because the terror and crimes against the civilian population, carried out by the occupying armies, were cruel to the extent unheard of elsewhere in Europe. On such women fell all the responsibility for care for the children, the elderly, the weak, the sick and the girls who remained unmarried. MORE

Extraordinary piece of music
It is a unique artistic work where the idea of a scientist and music of a composer are interlaced. The aim of creating the artistic work is to rise the listener into dramatic space of time and inscription in stone about the life in the remote past, presence and, for the man, uncertain future using words and sound. Nowadays the awareness of the importance of a true relationship between man and nature is of crucial importance for the survival of the human race on Earth. How to eliminate the evil in man and derail him from the direction of ecological catastrophe, apocalypse lurching before him and towards which, in spite of all his knowledge, man has been rushing.
