Music festival "In the sounds of the places" at full speed

IN THE SOUNDS OF THE PLACES – Italian artists in Belgrade, Zajecar, Sremska Mitrovica, Smederevo, Bar and Perast – all during the summer 2005

Music international festival «In the sounds of the places» has started its tour with the Karmelos Orchestra 23 July in the Lapidarium of the Museum of Srem in Sremska Mitrovica.  The renowned orchestra Karmelos (in translation from Greek – The sounds of the rocks) was guided by Mr. Alen Monier, educated at one of the most distinguished French schools for cello.  The repertoire, beside the music of Vivaldi and Heidn, contained the works of contemporary Balkan composers, Dejan Despic (SCG), Berislav Sipus (Croatia), Dragan Suplovski (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Toma Gaqi (Albania). 

The mayor of Sremska Mitrovica has attended the concert, as well as other representatives of the local authorities, and our composer Dejan Despic.  After Sremska Mitrovica, Karmelos will perform in Bar during the summer festival of this city 29 July 2005. 

During August, quintet Kalamos will perform in Smederevo (16 August) and Zajecar (17 August) and quartet Kremona will perform in Belgrade (30 August) and Perast (4 September).
