NEW BOOKS - Sveti jezik vlaškog hleba

Materials for the book are collected within the project "Vlach bread ritual and pomane," which launched Peacock Es Durlić, curator of the museum in Majdampek and only Serbian ethnologist, Vlah originating from eastern Serbia. In this picture the first time the general public shows one aspect of the spiritual culture of the Vlachs in eastern Serbia, which is preserved through the centuries in ritual bread and customs, among which the most prominent pomana; this ritual hairdryer Vlachs made hundreds and even thousands bread! For a concise manner shown in the Vlach culture, that a bleak and fatalistic world of the dead into the cult of eternal life and its complex rites prints leave the universal human dream of immortality. At 50 pages processed more than 40 major Vlach sacred bread, illustrated color photos with detailed description. The book includes a list of literature. Read more...
