BUREAU OF EUROPEAN DESIGNERS' ASSOCIATIONS
BEDA BEDA was established in 1969 and represents the interests of around 15,000 practising designers towards the institutions of the EU. It is mostly concerned with the member countries of the EU. Mission: To develop a long-term policy on design for the European Union. Activities: +BEDA works towards the harmonisation of professional design qualifications and the raising and maintaining of design standards, +It proactively lobbies the European Commission and the European Parliament, +BEDA provides a platform where members of design associations can pool knowledge, +BEDA represents designers' interests with the legislative, legal, financial and other bodies within the EU, +The BEDA Register of European designers, +BEDA monitors the activities of the European Union, industry and society.
