BALKANKULT - BALKAN CULTURAL COOPERATION
Founded in Belgrade in 1999. Mission: Communicational, professional and technical support for international artistic and cultural ties within the Region (Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia,Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Serbia and Montenegro) and throughout Europe, as well as independent exchanges of information. Activities: +Collecting and spreading information about the possibilities of concrete intercultural co-operation, +Forming a database of existing and potential intercultural projects that would help to realise co-operation between the authors of the project and institutions and individuals that are prepared to support the realisation of projects, +Collecting and classifying data about international foundations, cultural networks, awards, grants, competitions, festivals in the area of culture, for the needs of the parties interested in competing, +Forming a data base of individuals and institutions that co-operate via BalkanKult, +Forming a data base of regional cultural institutions whose basic aim is intercultural linking and international co-operation, +Establishing co-operation with related initiatives in the region and other parts of Europe, +Informing European and international institutions and influential individuals about the cultural situation in the Region, +Help cultural industries, particularly those affected by intercultural co-operation to receive its deserved place in Europe, +Lobbying at European and international institutions and foundations for receiving direct help for survival of the regional NGOs that work on international projects, but are facing numerous problems because of the extremely difficult legal, economical and political situation.
