EUROPEAN FORUM OF WORLDWIDE MUSIC FESTIVALS
EFWMF Founded in 1991, EFWMF is a network of more than 50 major European festivals in the area of world, ethnic, traditional and roots music. Mission: A clear and coordinated information to the public, the professional organisers, the artists and the media about world music as well as a clear and coordinated circulation throughout Europe of the artists themselves. Aims: +To coordinate joint actions on artistic and organisation level, +To connect with other networks and with the Euroepan institutions, +To promote worldwide music and encourage co-production in this field, +To fight intolerance and racism by programming on a large scale of worldwide musical events, +To explore and share new directions in communications and information technology. Activities: +The EFWMF provides a platform for musicians worldwide to present themselves in Europe, +The EFWMF interconnects with other European networks, +It has established many contacts on other continents for those who are looking for a European partner, +Each year the EFWMF organizes Strictly Mundial, 2004 edition will be in Istanbul: www.instanbul2004.info, 2005 edition in Montrea, +EFWMF facilitates European tours and releases sampler CD's to promote the artists and their culture, +Member meetings, three times a year. Publications: +Newsletter. |
