ARCHIPEL - CONTEMPORARY THEATER FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES

Members of ARCHIPEL are all directors, actors, authors and simultaneously theatre managers (managers of established theatres or permanent centres for creation and distribution of theatrical productions for young audiences).

Mission:
To constitute an alternative International Forum aiming at the elaboration and promotion of new artistic and professional productions. This Forum will confront the realities of the contemporary theatre and its effect upon young audiences. It will produce analytical evaluations, both quantitative and qualitative, on the nature and the impact of new forms of creation, on the evolving tastes and behaviour of youthful spectators, on the technical and economic conditions of the different modes of production and distribution, on the prominent role played by established theatres and distribution centers (cultural centers, festivals, etc.) and on the improvements of the artistic quality of stage productions.

Aims:
+To engage, finance and coordinate desirable initiatives (publication of an international newsletter or review, organization of seminars, national and international symposiums, etc.),
+To introduce the groups' activities to theatre professionals and other persons in charge of cultural development in various countries in order to reach the broadest public possible,
+To encourage an awareness of contemporary theatre by drawing new audiences and to support, through concrete collective actions.
