SILENT TALKS - Finnish photographic museum, Helsinki (16.3. - 27.8. 2011)

Jaakko and DimitrijeOn March 16, at the Finnish Museum of Photography, a retrospective photography exhibition titled “Silent Talks” was opened. The exhibition is by today’s best Finnish photographer Jaakko Heikkilä. Alongside the exhibition, there is an exclusive, extraordinarily prepared monograph.
The exhibition at the Finnish museum will last until the beginning of August, when it will move to Germany (Kiel), Estonia (Tallin) and Sweden (Lulea)...A significant portion of the exhibition consists of photographs made in eastern Serbia in 2007 and 2008 as a result of cooperation with the Balkankult Foundation on the project Lost in Europe. Below the exhibited photographs the artist has written Aleksandar is Vlach, voice  without letters, a light on the shadow sides of the hills. Dimitrije Vujadinovic, director of the Balkankult Foundation and project coordinator for Lost in Europe, spoke at the press conference and the opening ceremony of the exhibition in Helsinki. Heikkilä has had two exhibitions in Serbia, at the Remont gallery in Belgrade 2005, and the Novi Sad SPENS Center in 2009. Public in Serbia will have a chance to view this amazing photography exhibition by the end of next year.
